Alpha Reading
The Alpha writing stage is almost always the most demanding mountain to climb. I am here to give honest, objective, and non-biased feedback on your manuscript/book. While I would love to give you a detailed list of the items I will be looking for, everyone’s Alpha stage is different.
This being said, I will actively be taking notes and leaving my reactions as a reader while I work through your manuscript; this, of course, is in addition to preparing a Readers Report.
Beta Reading
Are you almost ready to send your manuscript to your editor, but you’re afraid you still have a few undiscovered plot holes? This is where I come in! It’s my job not only to give you my honest reactions while reading through your work but to also dig out your plot holes – something I thrive on. I will actively take notes while looking for a complete list of items such as:
- Did anything confuse me?
- Did the plot flow naturally?
- Was your first chapter gripping enough to hold my attention?
- Did your ending leave me wanting more?
- Would I change anything?
- What were my favorite parts?
- And much more
Throughout the year, I usually read an average of 80 books. These books range throughout multiple genres; however, I read Fantasy more than anything else. All genres are welcome; however, please message me if you have an NSFW manuscript.
Editing
Congratulations! You’ve completed the most daunting task: getting your thoughts on paper (Alpha Stage), organising them, and obliterating all possible plot holes (Beta Stage). It’s time to climb your final mountain before publication – this is where I come in!
My job is to make sure that your manuscript is the best that it can be;
My deep line edits include in-text edits using tack changes, focusing on the following:
- Grammar
- Spelling
- Punctionation
- Sentence Structure
- Readability
- Tenses
- And SO much more
At the end of our collaboration, you will receive; one document edited using MS Word Track Changes and one copy of your manuscript with all edits accepted and comments removed.
Proof Reading
Between the texts I had to read for university and the eighty other books I read in my free time, I have been exposed to countless types of writing. Because of this, I can refine your text, making it polished and easy to read. When reading through your work, I will check the following:
- Spelling & grammar
- Tenses
- Awkward phrasing
- Poorly structured sentences
- Tone & voice consistency
- Clarity & readability
After your piece has been proofed, you will receive two copies, one clean copy and another that shows all of my comments and edits
Reviews
It’s taken a while, but your book has finally been published!
Your next step is to get some certified reviews behind it to start generating a following and sales – let me assist you with this.
I will provide you with a genuine review between 100 and 300 words to be posted on any of your chosen platforms: Amazon, Goodreads, and Storygraph, to name a few.
There’s only one catch: for me to create an honest review of your manuscript, I have to enjoy it. Reach out to me with your manuscript’s summary/blurb. If it genuinely pulls me in, I’ll immediately dive into your work!
Consulting
Have you hit a wall with your manuscript? Reached out to all of your ‘bookish’ friends for advice?
Let me give you a hand. With my background in psychology, I have an innate ability to provide you guidance/advice from a friend’s perspective and from an editor at the same time.
I’ve structured this job in a way that I can touch base with you as needed or daily through emails, WhatsApp or Zoom calls.

Package F.A.Q
Do you do Beta reading and Editing at the same time?
No. I usually leave over 100+ comments for 90k-word manuscripts. With these annotations, your work will continue to develop. That being said, I require a three to four-week waiting period before you can send me your manuscript again for me to move onto the editing stage. This will allow you time to develop your manuscript if needed, before it is polished for publication.
How do you price out the package if the word count is unknown for the next step?
Let’s take, for example, a Beta reading and Editing package. If the word count for your manuscript is in the Beta stage, and it has a word count of 50,000 words, your package at the time of purchase will be $85. This $85 includes the beta read portion of your manuscript (50,000 × $0.001 = $50) plus a 50% non-refundable retainer based on your manuscript’s current word count (25,000 x $0.0014 = $35). Once I receive your manuscript a second time, I will calculate the total based on the current word count, deduct your retainer and send you an invoice for the remainder at completion.
